KCAC participates in Berlin March of Life to commemorate Holocaust

Knesset Christian Allies Caucus director Josh Reinstein marched with March of Life founder Jobst Bittner and caucus head MK Robert Ilatov at the Berlin March of Life, the final event for more than 40 marches of Life that have taken place in Germany and Austria since 2012, commemorating the deportations and death marches.

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the liberation, the participants wanted to commemorate the death marches as the final chapter of the Holocaust, and on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of German-Israeli relations they wanted to make a statement for reconciliation and friendship with Israel.

“In the face of its historic responsibility for having caused World War II and the genocide of the Jewish people, Germany is a country of unmerited grace,” Bittner said. “All who remember how indifference and silence can make equally guilty, must never again remain silent in the face of hatred of Jews or any form of racist injustice. The aim of the March of Life in Berlin is to commemorate, and also to make a statement of solidarity and friendship with Israel and against
anti-Semitism.”
